So a couple of months ago I decided that i would start a challenge.beating Pokémon black with ONLY samurott.easy enough right? No actually.because I couldn’t use more than 1 battle item, a potion if you may.so this challenge was particularly difficult.especially during the 4th gym (you know why), but overall i had a smooth and normal ride, up until the very end.ghetsis, You could watch the animation to get hyped up for the cool thing, or you could continue on as if it wasn't happening if you just wanted to get on with things. Might look a little weird with the Pokemon snapping back to position to start the attack animation, but I don't think anyone would really mind that much. Have the menu be up while this happens, and make it possible to interrupt the animation by choosing an attack. And if players don't like it, make it possible to interrupt these animations. Still, I think something like your beloved starter pulling through by the power of friendship to activate its ability and save the day in a tough battle is worthy of a brief but cool animation.

Yeah a lot of these things should be rolled together (we don't need each Pokemon hit by sandstorm, do it quickly and all at once) and many should be reduced (just show clearly that it's raining, you don't need to remind us every single round.) This has sort of derailed into the reasons why I don't like dynamax, but I think this has been a really good conversation about the centralization and balance of dynamax. A blanket buff (which is what dynamax is) is a lot harder to balance than fine tuned stats.

With megas, Gamefreak could custom tune stats and movepool to balance them. Looking away from VGC and at DOU, dynamax did get banned for being too centralizing, too unpredictable, and having too much of a snowball effect.įrom a balance perspective, you can't deny that it is a much harder mechanic to balance than megas. The average player is more unpredictable with when and what they do for dynamax, and is (In my opinion as an average skill player) less fun to play against. At the highest skill tier you will see dynamax be used in the same way as a mega, like the example you used here. I think at the end of the day it comes down to skill tiers. Of course this lead to the idea of "The world's greatest swordman doesn't fear the 2nd greatest swordsman, he fears the fool who picked up a sword for the first time" Submission Filter Image Only Image Only No Image No Image Media Only Media Only No Media No Media Discussion Only Discussion Only No Discussion No Discussion Info Only Info Only No Info No Info Art Only Art Only No Art No Art Crafts Only Crafts Only No Crafts No Crafts Memes Only Memes Only No Memes No Memes Venting Venting No Venting No Venting No Art & No Venting No Art & No Venting No Memes & No Venting No Memes & No Venting Clear Filter Clear Filter Event Calendar
